Top 100 Golfers Return to TPC Boston Labor Day Weekend for 2014 Deutsche Bank Championship

Golf's Biggest Names Compete at Second Stop of PGA TOUR's FedexCup Playoffs; Field Expected to Include Defending Champion Henrik Stenson

The 2014 Deutsche Bank Championship, now in its 12th year, brings the world’s best golfers to Massachusetts over Labor Day weekend for four rounds of championship golf. The second leg of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs, this championship also features practice rounds, Pro-Am tournaments and family-friendly activities throughout the week and weekend.


The world’s top 100 golfers will tee off at the 2014 Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston, including: 2013 Deutsche Bank Champion Henrik Stenson, past champions Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson and Webb Simpson. These world class golfers will compete for the $8 million purse and FedExCup ranking points that determine the top 70 players moving on to the third round of the Playoffs. Since its inception in 2003, the Deutsche Bank Championship as generated more than $25 million for the Tiger Woods Foundation and local New England-area charities.

Once again, all active, reserve and retired military service member personnel and their dependents will be honored with complimentary admission each day of the championship, with a valid Common Access Card or Retired Military Card. They will enjoy the championship from the spectacular vantage point of the Military Patriot Outpost, located next to the No. 17 tee box, which includes complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

Kids 15 years and younger receive complimentary grounds admission with an accompanying ticketed adult. The week features family-friendly activities including special zones providing kids with an up-close, unobstructed view of the action. Other family amenities include up-front parking, parent/child restrooms and a children’s concession area. Kid Village allows families to step away from the course to enjoy pictures with the FedExCup trophy, player visits, miniature golf, arts & crafts, face painting, moon bounces and more, located adjacent to the Spectators Commons. Fans of all ages are invited to meet the PGA TOUR pros as they head from the course to their locker rooms for the duration of the championship.
