From Town Planner Sharon Wason
The Town of Foxborough is currently undergoing a process to create a new set of regulations that govern signage for consideration at Spring Town Meeting. Sign regulations typically dictate how many, what size, and what type of signs are allowed on a building or property in a specific area. Signs serve to identify businesses, retail stores and restaurants, office and industrial parks, and residential neighborhoods, as well advertise as goods and services.
The Visual Preference Survey is one of the tools to be used in this process for the public to give feedback on the appearance of signs in the area and to participate in the formulation of a new sign bylaw. There will be additional opportunities to participate and build consensus during two public workshops to be held in January and February of 2014, as well as during the Town Meeting process.
The survey is anonymous and is open to all respondents; however responses from residents and business owners within Foxborough will be more strongly considered. The survey will be posted from December 17th to January 16th. Please take the survey only once. Thank you for your participation.
