Town Clerk Will Not Seek Recount on Tenure Vote

Town Clerk Robert Culter lost a chance for tenure on a tie vote during Monday's election.

There will be no recount for Town Clerk Robert Cutler, who lost a chance at tenure by the slightest of margins.

Cutler told the Sun Chronicle that he will not request a recount due to the costs of hiring a team of election workers.

On Monday, Cutler sought to gain tenure through a ballot question in the town election. If voters approved his request, Cutler would no longer have to run for reelection. The measure failed on a 157-157 tie vote.
