Two Foxborough Warriors Earn Boston Globe All-Scholastic Honors

Plus, two coaches earned coach of the year honors.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Foxborough capped off a successful winter season win a few accolades from the Boston Globe.

Catherine Luciano of the Mansfield-OA Warriors girls' hockey co-op was named a Boston Globe All-Scholastic, Ashley Sampson was named one of the girls' basketball players of the year, Lisa Downs was named Division 2 girls’ basketball coach of the year, and Bill Ivatts was named the Division 3 wrestling coach of the year.

Catherine Luciano: Earned 18 goals and 11 assists during her Hockomock League MVP campaign. She will play hockey at Holy Cross next year.

Ashley Sampson: One of five players of the year, Sampson finished her high school career with 1,530 career points - the third-most in Foxborough history. She averaged 20 points, five rebounds, and four steals per game during a season which ended with the Warriors winning the Division 2 championship.

Lisa Downs: The Foxborough graduate coached the Warriors to a 25-1 record and the team’s first state title since 1995.

Bill Ivatts: Another Foxborough graduate who came back to take the reins of his former team, Ivatts coached the Warriors to a 20-2 record and the Division 3 State Coaches Duals title during their 20-2 season.
