Want Patriots Playoff Ticket? Could Be Cheapest Since 2011

This could be your chance to buy "cheap" Patriots playoff tickets.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Usually a New England Patriots playoff game at Gillette Stadium is the hot ticket item of the weekend but this year's edition may have gotten a bit cooler, according to an analysis of ticket prices.

Ticket search engine and aggregator TicketIQ reports that prices for Saturday's game against the Tennessee Titans are down 37 percent since Sunday with an average price of $303 and a get-in price of $142. If prices hold for a couple more days, fans are looking at the third cheapest secondary market prices for a Patriots divisional round game since 2011, when TicketIQ start tracking the stats 2011.

While $303 is still a hefty price for a football game, it's still less than last year's $458 for the Houston Texans playoff game. Before Sunday, the average ticket price was $480.

In that time period, the 2013 division round game against the Indianapolis Colts, which was played in the pouring rain during a cold January 2014 evening, was the cheapest ticket at $266.

Maybe the low price has to do with the fact that few people are taking the Titans seriously. In an interview with the Tennessean, Boston Globe columnist Tara Sullivan said the key to victory for the Patriots is showing up. Even Vegas is bullish on the Pats, setting a 13.5-point line against the Titans.

Tickets for Saturday's game are all but sold out through TicketMaster, the team's official ticket distributor. While tickets are available on the secondary market, you will be paying above face value and you risk buying fake passes if you are not careful.
