Warriors Football Advance in MIAA D4 South Football Tournament

With the win, the No. 2 ranked Warriors advance to the semi-final round and will face Hanover at Ahern Field next week.

With a strong second half effort and excellent play on both sides of the ball, the Foxborough Warriors took another step forward in the MIAA Division 4 South playoffs Friday night, beating Dennis-Yarmouth 30-16.

With the win, the No. 2 ranked Warriors advance to the semi-final round and will face Hanover at Ahern Field next week.

Despite falling behind 6-0 early in the first quarter, the Warriors would rally to score 30 consecutive points against the Dolphins. After cutting the lead in half with a field goal in the first quarter, Foxborough capped off a 6:17 drive with a quarterback keeper from Darren Kelly from the Dennis-Yarmouth one for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Foxborough would extend the lead to two scores when Austin Ryan was able to evade double coverage in the third quarter for a 56-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter.

Ronnie Martin capped off a 125-yard rushing performance in the fourth quarter, scoring from the two-yard line while Rob McCoy returned an interception for a 99-yard touchdown run to give Foxborough a 24-point lead late in the game.

Foxborough will play Hanover at 7 p.m. on on Nov. 6.
