18-year-old Foxborough senior, Joe Mulherin, views life through a lens.
Mulherin got his start in filmmaking as a young teenager with an old camera he found in his home. Mulherin began filming his friends skateboarding adventures and editing the footage he took on his father's computer. Soon after, Mulherin realized that he had begun to develop a passion for filmmaking.
"After shooting my friends skateboarding, I loved coming in to edit and then showing off the final product," said Mulherin.

"I created Midday Films, which started off as mostly filming skateboarding and snowboarding scenes but has now turned into more freelance work such as commercials for local companies," Mulherin said.

Mulherin also recently launched joemulherinmedia.com, where samples of his work can be found.
Mulherin has already created many films but his favorite thus far has been his 10 minute documentary on Midday Films.
"My favorite so far is the 10 minute documentary on Midday Films," he said. It tells the story of myself and my friends. The film won the Silver Key in the Scholastic Art Awards."
Mulherin plans on continuing to study film at the college level in the fall.
"My goal is to graduate college and get a job or internship where I can combine my passion for snowboarding with advertising. I like to be creative and brainstorm ideas," Mulherin said.
Mulherin's dream project would be to make a documentary film on his favorite snowboarder Scott Stevens. Stevens personal style of snowboarding inspires him.
"It would be great for people to see how amazing Stevens is," said Mulherin.
Mulherin does not just view filmmaking as a future career; He views it as an art.
"Filming something for the first time is my favorite part" he said. You have all these raw clips. It is basically a blank canvas. You can do whatever you want with it."
