15% of Framingham Still Without Power, According to NStar

State Rep. Chris Walsh provides residents without power an update on where the Nstar crews are concetrated on in Framingham currently.

"We have had several constituent calls concerning the ongoing loss of
power in their neighborhoods and have been speaking with NSTAR about their schedule to have all the neighborhoods re-powered.  As you can imagine there are many communities in the same boat or worse and since there was no loss of life or instances of major  property damage here in Framingham we might be somewhat relieved.

Having said that, I believe that the electric distribution system that we currently have is increasing inadequate given the critical importance and our dependence of these systems- response to a difficult circumstance is no substitution for designing a more robust and rugged system to begin with.

  • Three NSTAR crews are currently working in Framingham  and are each working on separate circuits so the streets that should come on line next are:
    Waveney Rd
    Salem End Rd
    Swift Rd
    Main Street
    Edmands Rd
    Flanagan Dr
    Mill St Travis Dr
    Badger Rd
    Belknap
    Parmenter
    Lanewood Ave
    Winter St
