This Framingham Brewery Is Among Top 50 Craft Breweries of 2025

New national rankings spotlight Bay State craft brewers among the top 50 in the country.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — A Framingham brewery is being recognized in a new report highlighting standout craft brewers across the country.

A small independent brewery in the city is among the best in the U.S., according to the Brewers Association's list of Top 50 Craft Brewing Companies for 2025. Hendler Family Brewing Company, at 100 Clinton St. came in at No. 27 on the list, joining two other Bay State breweries in the ranking.

Hendler Family Brewing, which is family-owned and operated in Framingham, is known for many spots in the Greater Boston area, including five Night Shift Brewing locations in the city, Wormtown Worcester, Jack's Abby Craft, and Wormtown Patriots Place.

The Bay State craft breweries that made the list were:

  • Boston Beer Co (No. 3)
  • Barrel One collective (No. 23)
  • Hendler Family Brewing Company (No. 27)

Each of the breweries has played a long-standing role in shaping the state’s craft beer identity.

Boston Beer, the company best known for its flagship Samuel Adams brand, remains one of the largest and most influential craft brewers in the country. The business's production also includes Dogfish Head, Truly, Twisted Tea, Angry Orchard, Hard Mountain Dew and Sun Cruiser.

Barrel One Collective, also based in Boston, houses 15 brands and operates 9 brewery-taprooms across 4 states. That includes Harpoon, Wachusett Brewing Co. and Dunkin' Spiked, among other big names.

D. G. Yuengling and Son Inc in Pottsville, PA and Sierra Nevado Brewing Co. topped the list of best brewing companies at No. 1 and 2.

The Brewers Association report highlights breweries across the U.S. that continue to define the craft beer landscape through innovation, consistency, and community engagement.

Massachusetts has long been considered a stronghold for craft brewing, with hundreds of breweries operating across the state, from large-scale producers to small neighborhood taprooms.
