3 Framingham Cheer Squads Competing To Go To Nationals

Framingham Youth Football and Cheerleading (FYFC) is sending its 6th, 7th and 8th grade cheer squads to New Hampshire today to compete in the New England Championships.

If any of the squads finish in first place they will compete in the national championships in Florida in December, said FYFC cheer coordinator Heather Connolly.

The toughest competition at the Verizon Center in Manchester, N.H. today, Nov. 22, will be in the sixth and seventh grade divisions, where more than a dozen squads are vying for the title of New England champions.

The A squad (8th graders) had the best score of the three squads competing today in the last competition, at 83.25 out of 100 points, said Connolly.

“There is the possibility that all three could be going to Florida,” said Connolly.

The 23-member A (grade 8) cheerleading squad includes Jaylynn Bertrand, Madison Nalon, Julia Sebilian, Isabella Galvani, Monet Mibley, Tess Lawson, Zyana Martinez, Tallulah Fair, Andra Albert, Kaitlyn Alves, Courtney Parmensi, Aryana lee, Sydney Aivanzian, Caitlyn Penrod, Alanna Perez, Kevelle Branch, Grace Beaudet, Amdrea Pineda, Tyler Powers, Kristina Tognacci, Mollie Ackerley, Katiria Aguirre, and Keren Morales.

The team is coached by Patricia Ackerley. Assistant coaches are Jayne Penrod, Melissa Powers and Jodi Tognacci. Student demonstrators for the team are Cassie Baker, Caterina Galvani, Kirstie Haines and Keelin Ackerley.

Members of the seventh grade (B) squad include: Sydney Kinney, Aline Martins, Jillian Luna, Sarah Kraus, Lily Bradway, Amanda LaPointe, Grace LaPointe, Sabrina LaPointe, Samantha Sepinuck, Emily Simeone, Reilly Edelman, Jillian Ferrari, Ana Julia Viana, Kayla Whitney, Liannie Rodriquez, Krystalie Garmendia, Mia Useloff and Katie Plone.

Members of the sixth grade (C) squad include: Joslin de Jonge, Dyanna Londono, Brianna Aucoin, Savannah Johnson, Nicole Cardenas, Priscilla Silva, Ashley Brewer, Abby Burgess, Sophie Albright, Ariana Murphy, Nicole Dion, Olivia Lincoln, Sarah Morales, and Kiana Alford.

The sixth grade team is coached by Jacqui Murphy. Assistant coaches are Suzanne Albright, Tara Brewer, Tiffany Kane and Jamie Saporetti. Student demonstrators for the sixth grade team are Sara Dilbarian, Mary Connolly, Marissa Moy and Caley Boylen.
