3 Honorees Announced For Salute To Framingham

Kathy Hauck and David and Cathy Miles have been chosen as this year's honorees for the annual Salute to Framingham.

FRAMINGHAM, MA- Joining a long list of supports of Framingham's youth and schools will be Kathy Hauck and David and Cathy Miles. The three will be honored at the 27th annual Salute to Framingham on Thursday, March 21.

Kathy Hauck had four children in the Framingham schools and was among a dedicated group of parents who came together to form the Framingham High School Foundation when the district experience budget cuts in 2002. The budget cuts threatened the extracurriculars at the schools, so the Framingham High School Foundation made it their mission to financially supplement athletics, arts and activities for all students at FHS. Kathy served as president of FHSF until 2014.

Hauck is also a committee member for the FHS Athletics Hall of Fame dinner and was involved as a parent member of the selection committee for a new FHS football coach.

Cathy and David Miles are both forces that, separately and together, impact the youth in a tremendous way. David is the current co-chair of the Framingham School Building Committee. He played a vital role in the development of, and planning for, the construction of a new Fuller Middle School. He served for 12 years on the Framingham School Committee, including being named as Chair several times. While chairing town meeting for six years he chaired the standing committee on education and was also appointed to town finance committee. When he wasn't bouncing between city meetings, David was coaching an array of sports and organizations including YMCA soccer or basketball, Framingham Little League and Framingham United Soccer.

Cathy has brought a spotlight in the city to opioid misuse, co-founding Framingham FORCE (Fostering Opioid Recovery, Compassion & Education), an organization which serves to raise awareness of and de-stigmatize opioid misuse. Cathy served as a steering committee member for the Framingham Services Coalition aiding those affected by homelessness. She was also on Hoops and Homework's Board of Directors and currently serves on the Committee to Break the Silence for Voices Against Violence.
