2. Celebration Returns At Party City, Thanks To Framingham Company (patch.com) — A Framingham-based company is helping revive Party City by rolling out in-store party-supply sections at 700 Staples locations nationwide, including dozens across Massachusetts. While the Framingham Staples has not yet added Party City, the chain plans to extend the partnership to all stores by year’s end, potentially bringing expanded celebration supplies back to local shoppers.
3. 'Things don't look good.' Framingham MA warns of fiscal '27 challenges (metrowestdailynews.com) — Framingham officials are warning residents to brace for a tough fiscal 2027 budget that could push average single-family tax bills up at least 4% as the city closes a roughly $12 million gap. Mayor Charlie Sisitsky and his finance team outlined options including higher taxes, using free cash, and school cuts, while residents pressed to protect education funding before the May 1 budget submission.
4. Cat rescued after firefighters knock down fire at Framingham residence (boston25news.com) — Firefighters quickly knocked down an exterior fire Wednesday at a home on Irving Street in Framingham, preventing it from spreading and safely rescuing a cat from the roof. No injuries were reported, and investigators are still working to determine what caused the blaze.
5. How 20 MetroWest students got hands-on experience during April break (metrowestdailynews.com) — Framingham high schoolers were among 20 MetroWest students who spent April break getting paid, hands-on exposure to carpentry, plumbing and construction careers through the “Tools of the Trade” program. Training at union facilities across central Massachusetts, they received safety gear, basic skills instruction, and guidance on apprenticeship pathways after graduation.
