FRAMINGHAM, MA — A coffee shop and roastery that’s been a staple on Cape Cod for over half a century will soon open a branch in Framingham.
Cape Cod Coffee Co. plans to open its first location in the area this August at 770 Water St., in Nobscot Village, according to the MetroWest Daily News.
The Mashpee business launched in 1970 – a year before industry behemoth Starbucks came along. In 2015, Cape Cod Coffee sold to Jan and Pam Aggerback.
Today, the company offers more than 40 varieties of coffee, roasted with "natural" methods that avoid the use of chemicals. And business has been percolating.
Cape Cod Coffee has two locations in its hometown and a restaurant partnership there. In 2023, the business teamed up with a restaurant in Wareham, and since 2024 has been partnering with Chatham Perk in that Cape community.
Now Cape Cod Coffee is expanding farther onto the mainland. Besides the Framingham shop, the company plans to open in Braintree during June, according to the Daily News.
