Buses Replace MBTA Trains Between Framingham, South Station
The MBTA said early Monday morning that shuttles will replace commuter rail trains "until further notice."

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Shuttle buses replaced MBTA commuter rail trains between Framingham and South Station Monday morning due to a problem with signaling systems.
According to the MBTA, work on a project to install a positive train control system along the Worcester line wasn't finished on Sunday. The shuttle buses will replace trains at least all day on Monday, a Keolis spokesperson said.
Riders can look out for Yankee Line branded coach buses instead of trains. The buses were skipping the West Newton, Newtonville, Boston Landing and Lansdowne stations.

The MBTA began the positive train control project at the end of February. Shuttle buses have been used in place of trains on weekend since then.
All commuter rail lines returned to near pre-pandemic capacity on Monday, running at 85 percent of normal schedules.
