WHO:         Jack’s Abby celebrates the arrival of spring with their annual Maifest event.

WHAT:        Maifest is a traditional German festival to celebrate the beginning of spring and the counterpart to the legendary Oktoberfest celebration. Germans celebrate by decorating their cities with a Maibaum (Maypole), colorful ribbons, and flowers. The festival includes traditional music, dancing, attire, and of course, German food and beer!

This year Jack’s Abby Maifest is packed with fun activities for all, including cask tapping, Steinhoisting, an artisan marketplace, a costume contest, and live Music. Jack’s Abby is also hosting two Bavarian Nights Beer Dinners, one on Friday and one on Saturday. The Maifest celebrations are also family friendly, with activities for all ages including flower crown making and balloon animals.

Jack’s Abby is lives for lagers and is celebrating Maifest with the following favorites:

  • Fest of Both Worlds - this is Maifest lager is alimited edition collaboration beer from Jack’s Abby and another iconic, family owned brewery Warsteiner in Germany.  Fest of Both Worlds celebrates the transition from winter to spring and showcases classic Pilsner malt, noble hops and a decoction mash that honors tradition while brewing for today. Steffi malt, a classic German heirloom variety, which lends a specific rustic elegance and notes of freshly baked challah bread and honeyed biscuits that modern malts often miss.Fest of Both Worlds has a light floral hop aroma followed by a sweet malty finish. It is medium-bodied with soft, creamy carbonation and a bright deep golden color. It feels substantial yet dangerously drinkable. 5.9% ABV.
  • Biere de Miel - this is farmhouse style lager brewed with Streisselspalt Hops and honey, with floral notes and a hint of spice. 6.5% ABV.

Maifest will be held on the expansive Jack's Abby patio. In the event of rain, Maifest will be inside the Jack's Abby Beer Hall.

All are welcome! Dirndls and lederhosen encouraged!

ABOUT JACK’S ABBY

Founded in 2011 by three brothers, Jack, Eric, and Sam Hendler, Jack’s Abby has become an award winning mainstay of the craft brewing scene in the Northeast and nationwide. The Hendler brothers grew up in a family that promoted entrepreneurship and hard work. Spending summers with their grandfather and working at the family’s ice distribution company, they learned the value of committed family members and loyal employees—the foundation on which Jack’s Abby is based. Since opening, the brewery has tripled in size and is only continuing to grow. Visit the brewery and Beer Hall & Kitchen, have a pint, and some fresh wood-fired pizza, and learn more.
