John Kenney, author of I See You've Called in Dead (voted one of the ten funniest books of all time by the Washington Post Book Club newsletter) will be signing books at Word on the Street Bookstore on Thursday, June 25 at 7:00PM. Kenney will be in conversation with Jane Roper, author of The Society of Shame ("Wicked and wickedly funny" - Shelf Awareness).
I See You've Called in Dead is the moving story of Bud Stanley, a newspaper writer about to be fired for accidentally publishing his own obituary. As he awaits his fate at work, he does the only logical thing: He goes to the wakes and funerals of total strangers to learn how to live again.
