Car Wash Raises More Than $1,500 For Afterschool Program

Since Nov., Herb Chasan said $35,000 has been raised for the Hoops and Homework program. SMOC closed the Pusan Road location on Halloween.

Last Saturday, Auto Bright Car Wash on Hollis Street generously donated half of its proceeds to help restart the the Pusan Road Hoops & Homework program which was closed by SMOC on Oct. 31, after 18 months in operation, said Herb Chasan.

The car wash raised $1,566 for Hoops & Homework, said Chasan on Wednesday.

Since November 1, Chasan said $35,000 has been raised for the program.

“Our three programs will be sustainable for many years to come,” said Chasan. “Very soon these kids at Pusan road will be back inside and participating in their program. Let these kids back in. Open that door.”
