CareWell Urgent Care Opens in Framingham

CareWell Urgent Care centers function as an extension of a patient's own primary care provider, whether the patient lives nearby or visiting

CareWell Urgent Care opened in Framingham on Monday.

Located at 50 Worcester Road, CareWell Urgent Care offers medical care from Board-certified doctors, no referral or appointment necessary. Patients can visit CareWell centers for all non-life-threatening, but still
urgent, illness or injury, including colds, flu, infections, fractures, cuts, rashes and allergic reactions. Centers also offer preventative care such as flu shots, vaccinations and routine physical exams, and have on-site x-ray and lab capabilities.

“Our priority at CareWell Urgent Care is providing our patients with high quality medical care that works with their busy schedules,” said CEO Shaun Ginter in a press release. “With locations across Massachusetts and in Rhode Island, our convenient office hours ensure that your family can get the care they deserve when they need it.”

CareWell Urgent Care centers function as an extension of a patient’s own primary care provider, whether the patient lives nearby or is visiting from another part of the country. With the patient’s permission, CareWell will forward x-rays, lab results and diagnostic notes to the primary care doctor within 24 hours of their visit.

Urgent care centers are rapidly growing in popularity across the United States as an alternative to seeking care in an Emergency Room.

According to the American College of Emergency Physicians, 90% of emergency departments are at, or over, capacity.

With approximately 9,000 urgent care centers nationwide, 85% of which are open seven days a week, urgent care centers are an excellent alternative to receiving high quality and timely care.

CareWell Urgent Care centers accept most insurance plans, including Medicare, and the co-pay and visit fees are comparable to an office visit with your primary care doctor.

If you do not have insurance, CareWell also offers affordable self-pay rates.

Like all CareWell Urgent Care centers, the Framingham location will be open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Established in 2012, CareWell Urgent Care has centers in Billerica, Cambridge, Lexington, Needham, Norwell, Peabody, South Dennis and Tewksbury, as well as Warwick, RI, location.

The new business also became a member of the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber CEO Bonnie Biocchi and Framingham State Representatives Chris Walsh and Tom Sannicandro joined CareWell Urgent Care for a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday morning, Dec. 15.

CareWell Urgent Care centers are set-up to treat patients of all ages who need treatment of non-life threatening illness or injury quickly, cannot get an immediate appointment with their doctor, don’t have a primary care doctor, or are visiting from out of town.
