Closing This Summer: Beaver Street Bridge In Framingham
Framingham will hold an informational meeting about the major closure, which will happen near the Natick town line.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — A small bridge is about to cause a big traffic disruption for drivers and pedestrians in Natick and Framingham.
This summer, Framingham will begin work on replacing the Beaver Street bridge, which means all traffic will be detoured around the area for the duration of summer. To prepare, the city's Department of Public Works will hold a public meeting this month.
The bridge was built in 1922 and crosses Beaverdam Brook right at the southeast corner of Mary Dennison Park. The 16-foot bridge is in bad shape, so bad that school buses and some other large trucks can't cross it.

The $1.2 million replacement project was set to begin last summer, but was delayed due to work on relocating utility lines.
The public meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. on March 19 at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School, 169 Leland Street.
