Coronavirus: Mask Donations Sought In Framingham
A new group in Framingham is hoping to gather masks from local businesses and residents that may not need them.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — Just like others are across the nation, a group in Framingham is trying to collect medical supplies like masks and gloves to donate to medical workers handling the new coronavirus outbreak.
The group Mobilizing for Masks was founded by residents Audrey Hall and Glenda Cohen. They started a Facebook page to collect donations after she saw doctors and nurses use social media to solicit donations for medical supplies.
"With so much on people’s minds right now they may not even realize that any new masks or gloves on their shelves can make a difference," Hall said in a news release. "I saw tremendous potential in reaching out to collect and donate scattered supplies so they could be donated to healthcare workers on the front lines."

Hall says that some businesses shuttered or slowed by the state's stay-at-home advisory — tattoo parlors and spas — might have extra supplies on hand that could be donated to medical workers.
Mobilizing for Masks will start picking up donations on Thursday before delivering them to hospitals on Friday. If you want to donate, email mobilizingformasks@gmail.com or visit the group's Facebook page.
