Karen said her family will continue with the Feed and with the catering business. Mark & Karen can be seen during the summer on the Framingham Centre Green selling food during the Concerts on the Common.
However, the restaurant side of the business will come to an end on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
She said the economy was one factor and “We’re getting old,” she joked. Both Mark and Karen are in their 60s, and Karen said they would like to spend time with family too.
The annual peeling party will still take place the night before Thanksgiving at Eagles Hall said Karen. She said she looking forward to the Framingham High boys swim team bringing their goggles, once again, to peel the onions.
She said donations would gladly be accepted from a turkey, to vegetables to coffee.
“We go through a lot of coffee,” she said.
On Thanksgiving day, volunteers are still needed to help. They can show up at 9:45 a.m. on Thanksgiving at the hall to help said Karen. Or contact volunteer coordinator Diane Lynch at 508-380-3637 or by email at lynchied@gmail.com
To help raise money for the annual feed, organizers are holding a raffle again this year. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the restaurant or by emailing curtisthanksgiving@gmail.com.
The drawing will be on Nov. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the restaurant.
