Fireworks Are Back In Framingham For 2023: Here's What To Know
Stars & Stripes over Framingham will bring fireworks back to the city in 2023. Here's what else the event will include.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — Fireworks are returning to Framingham in 2023 for the first time since the new millennium.
Billed as Stars & Stripes Over Framingham and scheduled for June 30, a fireworks display at Farm Pond highlights the event, but there's plenty more to offer when it comes to the lineup for the event.
“I wanted to create a community event, that everyone was excited about. There are sporting events in the city that generate excitement but few large community events. This is an event the young and the old can enjoy, those with families, young couples, basically everyone,” said Mayor Charlie Sisitsky.

Then there's music, of course.
Larry Bee & The Buzz are scheduled to perform on a stage across from Farm Pond Park at 5 p.m. Night Camp will then perform classic rock and British invasion music. The U.S. Navy Band Northeast’s Ceremonial Band &’Rhode Island Sound’ will cap off the musical performances for the night, leading into fireworks.
Framingham's fireworks display will begin after 9 p.m. They'll be lit from a barge in the middle of Farm Pond, meaning no one will be allowed in the water at that time. Viewing areas include Farm Pond Park, Cushing Memorial Park, Long Field Complex, and other areas along the pond, and city officials have assured residents the display will be viewable over the trees.
As city officials prepare for the event, Dudley Road will be closed from Dr. Harvey Cushing Road to Fountain Street for all vehicles from 2 p.m. to midnight.
There will be no parking on Dr. Harvey Cushing Way, Fountain Street or Winter Street, officials said. Vehicles parked on those roads may be towed.
Parking on side streets off of Winter Street is restricted to the odd side of the road. Vehicles parked on even sides could impact emergency vehicle access, therefore those cars may be towed as well.
There will be public parking at Cushing Memorial Park. Entrance to these 2,500-plus parking spaces will be off Dr. Harvey Cushing Way. Spaces are first come and first serve, and are free, city officials said.
There will also be free parking at Keefe Technical High School. The only entrance for that parking will be on Fountain Street, city officials said.
