Four Framingham Businesses Get Alcohol License Suspensions
The four establishments are among 17 businesses who failed the latest round of compliance checks
FRAMINGHAM, MA- Four local businesses will have their alcohol license suspended for a day after they were caught in the latest round of compliance checks, selling alcohol to an underage buyer.
Braza Bar & Grill at 672 Waverly Street was sanctioned after an employee served a beer to an 18-year-old. The teen was working with the police department and was served by the restaurant back in January.
This is the first violation for the restaurant. At Monday's Board of License Commissioners meeting, Framingham police Lt. Jorge Ruiz said the restaurant was cooperative and agreed to the one day license suspension.

Amanda Vicente, manager for Braza said since the incident, the restaurant hired two security workers to check identification at the front door as well as carding customers at the bar. Adam Barnosky, chairman of the city’s licensing board, agreed to the one-day suspension, given it was the restaurants first offense. "It sounds like they have made some progress in retraining and upping their staff, which is good to hear,” Barnosky said.
Three other businesses were sanctioned including Amy’s Convenience, Bazaar West and Wine Vault. All three were first time violators as well.

In November, the minor working with police was able to buy beer from all three locations without showing any identification. At Amy's Convenience, at 68 Water Street, Wine Vault, at 2 Fairbanks St, and Bazaar West at 855 Worcester Road, he walked out with six packs of beer.
The three businesses will have their alcohol licenses suspended for one day, which police said must be on a Friday, within the next 30 days. They also each have to pay a $300 investigation fee to the city.
All alcohol has to be taken off of the store shelves or covered and a notice has to be placed in a visible spot for customers to read about the violations in the businesses entryway.
