FRAMINGHAM, MA — Two days after state data showed a slight drop in Framingham coronavirus cases, health officials said Friday that the city has added more than two dozen cases in recent days.

Health officials reported 25 new cases on Friday, the biggest single-day rise since the 26 new cases reported on Sept. 25. Framingham also reported a new COVID-19 death on Friday, bringing the pandemic total to 136.

Framingham is still a high-risk community, but state data released Wednesday showed a decline in the average number of new cases per day over 14 days (per 100,000) people from 12.5 on Sept. 23 to 11.1 on Sept. 30.
