Framingham Apartment Fire Displaces Family
Firefighters were able to put the fire out within ten minutes but the damage displaced the family for the night.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — A kitchen fire temporarily displaced a Framingham family on Thursday night from their Georgetown Road apartment. While firefighters were able to put out the flames in ten minutes, the smoke and heat damage forced the family of three to find another place to stay for the night.
Fire Chief Joseph Hicks said the call about a fire in the Georgetown Apartment Complex came in around 9:50 p.m. on Thursday. By the time fire officials got to the home, police had cleared all the residents out of the building, Hicks said.
The fire started in the kitchen of a first-floor apartment, Hicks said smoke could be seen coming from the apartment sliding door. Firefighters were able to keep the flames and damage contained to the kitchen but the damage was severe.
