Framingham Baseball Collects Hundreds of Toys for Children in Need
The toys will be donated to Framingham Fire and Police, who will distribute them to local families.

Tuesday night was the 11th Annual Toys for Tots collection, sponsored by Framingham Baseball, at O’Connell’s Pub.
A steady stream of families and community leaders dropped off bags upon bags of toys for boys and girls in need.
The toys typically are donated to Timothy’s Toy Box, a local non-profit organization, and the Framingham Fire Deaprtment, which runs its own program to help local families during the holidays.

But this year, organizer Janet Leombruno said all the toys were going to Framingham Fire and Framingham Police, who had been organizing a “stuff the bus” toy drive.
Timothy’s Toy Box has more toys than it needs, said Leombruno.

Last month, Framingham Patch was the first media outlet to report that thieves had stolen more than 100 toys from the Framingham organization run by Sharon Gilbert and her son Timothy.
After word got out about the theft, the organizations received hundreds upon hundreds of toys and more than $3,000 in donations to purchase more toys.
“It is wonderful to see the generosity of those who live in Framingham,” said Leombruno, referring to the outpouring of support to replace the toys stolen for Timothy’s Toy Box and the hundreds of toys donated Tuesday to her 11th Annual event.
