Framingham Car Chase Leads To Assault On Police Officer Charge: Cops

A Marlborough man faces four charges after he fled a traffic stop before, police said, striking an officer during a brief struggle.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham police said an officer was struck in the head with an unknown object during a struggle with a suspect.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday a patrol officer attempted to stop a stolen car in the area of 100 Concord St. The driver, who was later identified as Manuel Teo, 28, of Marlborough, fled the vehicle leading to a foot pursuit.

During the pursuit, the suspect and the officer briefly struggled before the officer was "struck in the head with an unknown object," police said.

Teo then fled the scene on foot leading to an extensive search of the area by officers and K-9 units.

The officer was transported by ambulance to MetroWest Medical Center with a minor head injury and has been released.

Teo was eventually arrested outside of his home with assistance from the Marlborough Police Department.

He faces charges including assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, receiving a stolen car and resisting arrest.
