“Love is love. No matter who you love, no matter how you identify, the City is with you to defend your right to celebrate your truth.”
Sisitsky wasn't the only official to comment on the importance of the event.
"It’s an honor for the City to partake in such an event. The PRIDE Progressive Flag represents the diversity that is Framingham. It’s a symbol that says we see you, we respect you, we value, welcome and support you," said the City of Framingham Chief Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Officer Jesse Edwards.
"I am looking forward to joining the LGBTQIA+ community as we all celebrate pride month with the annual flag raising ceremony. June 4th will be a day for all in the community to celebrate," said City Council Chair Phil Ottaviani Jr.
The city also will light the Memorial Building in the Progress Pride flag colors in rotation, officials said.
