Framingham Coronavirus Cases Top 300; Citywide Reflection Planned

Framingham will pause at 6 p.m. Monday to reflect on people fighting coronavirus.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham's coronavirus case count topped 300 on Friday, rising by 23 from Thursday to 315. City officials did not report any new deaths.

Just over a month into the coronavirus crisis, Framingham is planning a citywide moment of reflection and prayer on Monday. The event will bed led by the Framingham Interfaith Community Association and Mayor Yvonne Spicer. At 6 p.m., residents are being asked to pause for prayer and to reflect on people suffering due to coronavirus.

As of Friday afternoon, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Massachusetts surpassed 34,000. The Department of Public Health said there were 2,221 new cases. The death toll also hit 1,404 with 159 new deaths. Seven people from Framingham have died during the pandemic.
