Framingham Coronavirus Update: City Adds 1 New Case Friday
Framingham now has a total of 37 coronavirus cases, but about a quarter of those have already recovered.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The total number of new coronavirus cases hit 37 on Friday with the addition of one new positive case, city officials said.
Framingham reported its first COVID-19 death on Thursday — a man in his 80s who suffered from respiratory problems — but is also reporting that 10 of the 37 people have recovered from the disease.
As the coronavirus crisis rolls on, city officials are planning to open the emergency operations center on Saturday. The center will be open seven days a week between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Residents can call the center at 508-532-5800 to ask questions about things like COVID-19 testing and where to find food help.

With nice weather on Friday, and similar weather set for Saturday, city officials are reminding local residents that facilities like basketball and tennis courts are closed. Parks and trails are open for passive activities like walking and hiking. Ashland on Friday closed all town park facilities, although Ashland and Hopkinton state parks are still open.
