Framingham Couple Charged With Cocaine, Heroin Trafficking

Framingham Police said it was "part of an extended drug investigation by our narcotics unit."

A Framingham couple are facing cocaine and heroin trafficking charges, after there were arrested on Franklin Street in Wednesday by Framingham Police.

The couple were stopped on Franklin Street by Police.

They “repeatedly refused to comply with officers, locking their car doors, refusing to roll down windows, and officers eventually broke a window to gain entry and arrested both subjects,” said Framingham Police Lt. Stephen Cronin.

Arrested at 9:14 p.m. were Joshel Garcia, 23, of 68 Henry Street and Emily Oliveira, 25, of 111 Hastings Street, both of Framingham.

He was charged with trafficking heroin, trafficking cocaine, two counts of conspiracy to violate the state’s drug laws, two counts of a school zone drug violation, distribution of heroin, distribution of cocaine, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.

Garcia cut his head when he fell to the ground during his struggle with police.

She was charged with trafficking heroin, trafficking cocaine, conspiracy to violate the state’s drug laws, a school zone drug violation (Wilson Elementary) and resisting arrest.

Police began their investigation earlier this year. In the vehicle, police found 140 bags of heroin and 30 bags of cocaine.

Garcia was held on $10,000 bail and Oliveira was held on $5,000 bail, according to the DA’s office.
