Framingham Elections 2023: Nomination Papers Now Available

Seats on the City Council, School Committee and more are available this election season. Hopeful candidates can now grab nomination papers.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Hopeful candidates for the Framingham City Council, School Committee and more can now begin the process to election day.

Nomination papers for the city's 2023 elections are now available at the City Clerk's Office in the Framingham Memorial Building, 150 Concord St. They are due back by 12:30 p.m. on July 14.

The 2023 municipal election is scheduled for Nov. 7 with a variety of positions listed on the ballot. They include:

  • 11 City Councilor seats
  • 9 School Committee seats
  • 6 Library Trustee seats
  • 2 Cemetery Trustee seats

There are nine district seats available on the City Council and School Committee, and those candidates will be running for two-year terms.

Seats on the Boards of Library and Cemetery Trustees, as well as two at-large city councilors, are for four-year terms.

According to city officials, candidates for the district School Committee or City Council seats must file 50 signatures from registered voters in their district.

Candidates for at-large City Councilor will need to submit 150 signatures, and at least 10 signatures from each of the nine districts, officials said.

Fifty signatures from registered voters from any of the nine districts must be submitted by candidates for Library Trustee and Cemetery Trustee.

If a preliminary election is needed, it will be held on Sept. 19.
