Framingham Man Assaulted Child At Ashland State Park: Police
The man is accused of indecently touching a 4-year-old girl while in the water on the Fourth of July.

ASHLAND, MA — A Framingham man was arrested on Thursday after a 4-year-old girl told her parents and police that he inappropriately touched her while swimming in the water at Ashland State Park. The man, 46-7ear-old Aderlande Soares, was charged with indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.
Ashland police were working detail alongside Middlesex Sheriffs when an employee notified them about the incident around 4:07 p.m. The young girl was swimming in a roped off, designated area with other people, when she said the man inappropriately touched her, police said.
Witnesses and the girl gave police a description of the man, who was still on the beach, and police were able to find and arrest him. Police said they questioned him before arresting Soares, who did not resist arrest.

Ashland police said both the child and parents were visibly upset but very cooperative in identifying the man. "The beach was incredibly crowded that day, full of people celebrating the fourth," police said, "But it was a swift arrest and investigation."
The assault was the only incident at the park that day, accoridng to police.
