Framingham Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Firearms, US Entry Charges
The 23-year-old was arrested last year in Providence, Rhode Island.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — A Framingham resident has pleaded guilty to federal charges of entering the U.S. unlawfully and carrying a firearm, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Everton Luis Teixeira Da Silva, 23, ran from police after a traffic stop in Providence, Rhode Island, on Aug. 17, 2025, according to court documents. As he fled on foot, he discarded $900 in cash and a 9 mm pistol that police recovered and said was loaded and carried an obliterated serial number.
Providence police arrested Da Silva, no address given, on charges of carrying a pistol without a license, altering the marks of identification on a firearm, obstructing officers and resisting arrest.

After further investigation, police and FBI said they believe he entered the U.S. unlawfully. He submitted his plea in Providence federal court and faces sentencing May 14.
According to the court documents, Da Silva was a member – known as Vertin – of PCC, "the largest transnational gang in South America and one of the largest cocaine distributors worldwide."

Federal law forbids people in the United States illegally to possess firearms.
The U.S. attorney for Rhode Island, Charles Calenda, did not provide further details about the incident.
