Framingham Names Marguerite Lackard As King Elementary Principal
Lackard is a long-time Framingham resident and a department head in Walsh Middle School.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham Public School's didn't have to go far to find the new principal of King Elementary School. The district announced on Wednesday that it will be introducing a familiar face to the position: Marguerite Lackard.
Lackard serves as a Mathematics Department Head and teacher at Walsh Middle School and is a long-time Framingham resident. Lackard has been teaching in Walsh Middle School for almost 20 years.
Before her time in Framingham, she was a medical consultant in Boston Juvenile Court in Boston and a Pediatric Physician at Boston Medical Center in Boston. A graduate of City College of New York, she earned a Bachelor of Science and pursued her Doctorate of Medicine at the State University of New York Health Science Center. She earned her Masters in Education from Cambridge College.

"As we continue to define and implement our commitment to the integration of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, I feel fully confident that Dr. Lackard is the leader who can help us to champion this work," said Robert Tremblay, Superintendent of Framingham Public Schools. "Her strong skills in these disciplines coupled with her ability to develop and nurture relationships within and among staff, families, and children, have solidified - for me - her candidacy for this position. I appreciate the feedback that was provided following the various meetings and forum events as this too was helpful in making my decision."
Lackard will start in her new position on July 1.

King is the newest school in the district, constructed in 2014. It is focused on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). King principal John Maynard is resigning to pursue graduate studies at Boston University. Before his time at King he served as vice principal of Fuller Middle School and Woodrow Wilson.
