FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham residents who have taken an economic hit due to coronavirus can apply for help from the city. A new program will help residents pay for things like utilities, rent, and mortgage payments according to city officials.

Money for the program is coming from Framingham's share of the federal Community Development Block Grant, plus stimulus money from the CARES Act. Qualified residents can get about two months worth of help for various bills.

The program does come with restrictions, but is generally open to people who lost a job or income after March 10 — the day Gov. Charlie Baker declared a state of emergency due to the virus. Find out more via the city's financial assistance application form.
