Framingham Patch Editor Takes The Ice Out ALS Challenge
Framingham Patch editor challenges Framingham Town Meeting members and Patch readers to take the challenge or donate to ALS.

Have you seen people dumping a bucket of ice on their head on social media and television? Want to know why?
It all started as a campaign to Ice Out ALS (also know as Lou Gerhig’s Disease). It began with Boston College baseball player Peter Frates and fellow ALS patient Pat Quinn in late July. Pat’s brother Dan posted a video on their Facebook charity page of him dumping ice.
I was challenged by a fellow Boston College alumni and childhood friend to take the challenge, and today, Aug. 7, I dumped 10 pounds of ice on my head.

And now I challenge Framingham Town Meeting members to do the same. Trust me, it is easier than sitting through 3 weeks of Town Meeting in May.
I also challenge my Framingham Patch readers to do the same or make a donation to ALS.
