Framingham Police To Boost Handicapped Parking Enforcement
It's never OK to take a handicapped parking space. But Framingham police will increase patrols this holiday.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Hopefully by now you know that it's never OK to park in a handicap space if you either don't have a placard or don't actually need the space. But this holiday season in Framingham, you really do need to stick to the rules.
Thanks to funds from fines collected from handicap parking violators, Framingham police will step up holiday handicap parking enforcement during the holiday shopping season.
Police will of course be looking for people without placards, but they will also enforce rules around keeping handicap parking space buffers clear. Most handicapped spots feature an 8-by-5 foot buffer zone, which makes room for things likes access ramps. Blocking those areas is also illegal.
