The Framingham State Men's Rugby team continued its winning ways this past Sunday with a defeat of state-college rivals MCLA at the home field at Keefe Tech. The Rams scored 8 tries and two conversions for a total of 44 points. The MCLA Trailblazers however, managed to break FSU's perfect defense, scoring two tries late in the second half, for a total of 10 points.
The wet conditions favored the Ram's strong forwards attacking style, and they dominated play with physicality and technique for much of the match. As the game progressed, MCLA found it's feet and spurred on by their diminutive scrum half, of all 130 pounds, they took the game to the tried Rams. As both teams came to the end of the 80 minutes, the sun emerged adding to the physical demands of a hard fought match.
Next up for the Rams are the Hornets of Lydon State College, VT. The Hornets are currently 2-1 and a strong, physical team from the Northern Conference.
