Framingham Subtracts Death Attributed To Coronavirus

This is the second time in a week Framingham has revised down the city's COVID-19 death total due to a policy change.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — For the second time in a week, Framingham's coronavirus death toll has been revised down after a fatality was wrongly attributed to the virus, according to health officials.

The city's death toll dropped from 120 to 119 on Wednesday, and the city said that two more residents had tested positive for the virus. Last Wednesday, Framingham reduced its death toll from 118 to 117.

The revisions are due to a new Centers for Disease Control policy that says not to count a death as coronavirus-related if a person died after recovering from the virus.
