Framingham Superintendent Plans To "Smooth Out Kinks" This Year
The district is juggling plenty of new initiatives this year.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham students headed back to school on Wednesday and are falling back into a routine as the school year winds up. Framingham Public Schools Superintendent Robert Tremblay reminded families that this new school year brings some changes to the district — changes he hopes won't cause too many bumps in the road.
Tremblay posted a message on Facebook on Tuesday night, thanking parents for, "Being patient with us as we work to smooth out the first days of school kinks." "I will be back out at McCarthy and Fuller again tomorrow along with our facilities team, project management team, police, DPW, school and district administration and staff to see how we can all be helpful to the traffic congestion that we are all working to address. We really appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to make the student drop-off and pick-up experience a positive and efficient one!"
The new Fuller Middle School building project is in full swing, bringing the district closer to their brand new middle school. The construction also affects the drop-off and pick-up process for Fuller Middle School and McCarthy Elementary School. To ease traffic and congestion, the McCarthy and Fuller Schools Parent Teacher Organization put together an informational guide on the most efficient ways to get kids to and from school, no matter how they're traveling.
The new Fuller Middle School design includes a centralized cafeteria and an auditorium with 420 seats. The building will be three stories tall with air conditioning and larger classrooms. The gym of the new middle school will be 8,300-square-feet. The new Fuller Middle School will be done by the 2021-2022 school year.
