Framingham Swears In 6 New Officers
The city swore in six new police officers to join the department.

FRAMINGHAM, MA- Framingham swore in six new police officers on Friday.
Mayor Spicer tweeted a photo with the new officers calling each one "a fine young police officer and each one is committed to Framingham."
The ceremony comes on the heels of Steven Trask being sworn in as the city's the new Police Chief. Trask had been with the department 32 years and was serving as the interim chief after Ken Ferguson, the previous Police Chief, retired in April 2018.

The swearing in of the new officers also come after a report was released about the police department. The report revealed not only that the culture of the department was changing with the influx of younger officers but that the department has a high turnover rate. According to the J. Flagg report many officers who have been with the department less than five years leave, citing pay as a key issue.
