Framingham Teen Charged After 5 People Assaulted In Boston

A group of juveniles caused a disturbance on Sunday, leaving three people hurt after throwing bottles and punches, police said.

BOSTON, MA — A group of teenagers and juveniles face multiple charges after a total of five people were assaulted in Boston on Sunday.

Officers responded to a radio call around 7:49 p.m. after receiving reports that a group of juveniles were throwing bottles at people and causing a disturbance in the area of Franklin and Washington Streets.

"Upon arrival, officers observed a group of juveniles fleeing from the scene heading down Franklin Street towards Hawley Street, where they were stopped. All the juveniles were uncooperative with officers," Boston police said.

A total of five adult victims were still on the scene at Franklin Street and Washington Street, police said. Three victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

One person was kicked and punched while on the ground, and another was punched in the back of the head. A third victim was punched in the jaw, Boston police said.

Prior to attacking the victims, the group of juveniles was removed from TJ Maxx after causing a disturbance inside of the store, police added.

A 12-year-old from Arlington, a 16-year-old male from Framingham and a 14-year-old male from Cambridge were arrested and charged with:

  • Delinquent to Wit
  • Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon: Shod Foot
  • Delinquent to Wit, Affray.

An 11-year-old suspect from Arlington, MA was released to a parent.

Several other juvenile suspects, ranging between 15 and 17 years old, will be summonsed into Boston Juvenile Court upon further investigation, police said.
