Framingham Teen Torched Boston Police SUV, Authorities Say

Boston police arrested the 15-year-old on Thursday, charging him with arson and inciting a riot.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — An unidentified 15-year-old from Framingham has been charged after police say he helped vandalize and light a Boston police SUV on fire following a protest in the city on May 31.

The teen was arrested on Thursday and charged with arson and inciting a riot, according to Boston police. The teen's photo was circulated by the FBI on Tuesday to seek tips about his identity.

The FBI photo showed the teen standing with another man near the SUV, which was parked at Tremont and Bosworth streets in downtown Boston. Police say the teen and the other man broke the vehicle's windows and then set it on fire.

The burning of the police SUV came amid a night of violence following a peaceful protest over police brutality and the killing of George Floyd. Boston also saw some looting and clashes between police and protesters on May 31.

The teen was ordered held on $10,000 bail, and was told not to set foot in Boston, according to Universal Hub.
