Framingham Toddler Taken To Hospital In Carbon Monoxide Scare

The Georgetown Drive building was shut down and all occupants were evacuated while firefighters ventilated the apartments.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — A Framingham apartment building was evacuated and a toddler was taken to the hospital after multiple carbon monoxide detectors were activated Saturday morning, according to officials.

Firefighters were called to two addresses in the 0 block of Georgetown Drive, where they found "very high levels of CO due to a malfunctioning exhaust pipe," the Framingham Fire Department said in a news release.

The building was shut down and all occupants were evacuated while firefighters ventilated the apartments, according to officials.

One toddler was taken to the hospital, officials said.

All occupants had returned to their homes by 1 p.m., according to officials.

The boiler remains shut down until repairs and inspections are complete. Until then, the building has no hot water and no heat, officials said.
