FRAMINGHAM, MA — Just about one year ago, Framingham residents packed Nevins Hall to hear Mayor Yvonne Spicer's 2020 State of the City address. Coronavirus had barely made a headline in the U.S.

For 2021, the event will look much different. This year's State of the City will be held virtually amid a second surge of the virus. The Jan. 14 event will be broadcast on the city's government channel, AccessFramingham and Facebook Live.

"Although current conditions prevent us from being together in person this year, with the vaccine already in the state, I'm excited for the year ahead, and look forward to when we gather again in person," Mayor Yvonne Spicer said in a statement.
