Framingham's Former Angry Ham's Closed; On Market For $2.9M

The business closed at the beginning of the month and now the building is listed for sale with MetroWest Commercial Real Estate.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham's former Angry Ham's Bar & Grill closed permanently and the building just hit the market for $2.9 million. The business, renamed Beacon Street Bar & Grill, closed temporarily on June 1.

Located at 2 Beacon St. the property is listed with Cheryl Tully Stoll and Marlene Aron of MetroWest Commercial Real Estate. The building housed a few local establishments in it's lifetime, including “Captain Bob’s Seafood Market,” a popular Framingham institution.

The restaurant became Angry Ham's and the most recent owner, Mahesh Sharma, changed the name in the fall from Angry Ham's to Beacon Street Bar & Grill in an attempt to rebrand. When the establishment was known as Angry Ham's it had several police visits and liquor license violations.

The name was further changed to The Beacon in April. The name changes had no affect on the issues the restaurant faced. Within the past year the business received several sanctions from the city — last July the business faced a seven-day suspension for an earlier offense.

The listing markets the building as a "turnkey restaurant." Stocked with furniture and equipment, the listing says the only thing that is missing is a staff and to transfer the licenses over. The restaurant already has a full alcohol license and can seat 195 people.

"I am hoping for a fine dining venue,” Aron said in a press release. The venue has three floors, one with the potential for fine dining. Aron also noted the property could be redeveloped.

The building could also house an office/medical practice, educational facility, religious organization or other uses.

“This presents a great opportunity to own a building, relocate an existing business or open a
new one. Located near the junctions of Rt. 9, Rt. 126 and Rt. 30, this site is appropriate for a
multitude of different uses,” said Tully Stoll in a statement.
