Free Drive-Up Flu Clinic Coming To Framingham

The free flu clinic comes as Framingham sees an uptick in coronavirus — setting the stage for a possible winter "twindemic."

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham will host its first free flu clinic of 2020 this week.

The Sept. 26 clinic will take place at Keefe Tech, 750 Winter St., in a drive-up format. Keefe Tech was also briefly the site of a drive-up coronavirus testing site in August.

The clinic will be open to people over age 60 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Anyone else over 6 months can attend 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors must bring a health insurance card and a flu vaccine form already filled out.

Framingham's clinic will also feature high-dose vaccines for anyone over age 65.

The state is pushing all residents to get a flu shot this year to prevent a potential "twindemic" — where people sick with either the flu or coronavirus overwhelm local hospitals.

All students in Massachusetts, including those in college, are required to get a vaccine by Dec. 31.
