Hoops & Homework Program In Need of Volunteers

Due to increased enrollment, volunteers needed to help kids with homework and to read to them.

Hoops & Homework, the neighborhood based after-school programs, which are located in the lowest income area of town; is off to a fantastic start this season, said Framingham resident Herb Chasan.

The parents and kids are very happy since the kids come directly to our programs right after they leave the school bus. Then at 6 p.m. the kids can just walk home or their parents come to pick them up. There is time for the parents and teachers to talk about how their kids are doing. It’s a wonderfully satisfying experience, said Chasan.

Because our enrollments are up, we are in need of volunteers to help with the homework and to read to the kids, said Chasan.

A few too many kids are not crazy about reading and we want to change that situation, said Chasan.
