Using an online calculator, you can plug-in your weight and the amount of time you spent shoveling to determine how many calories were burned.

Use the Sparkpeople calculator to find out how many calories you burned while shoveling.

According to the calculator, a 160-pound adult who shovels snow for 60 minutes will have burned 396 calories.

Unfortunately, the calculator doesn’t take into consideration the weight of the snow or the amount of snow being picked up. It could be likely that you’re burning a whole lot more than what the calculator says.
